Sales Tax Holidays - Save money on your Back-to-School shopping

Money Saving Tip: July quick shopping notes

Save money on your Back-to-School shopping

To our members across the country, we are proud to share with you some highlights of this year’s Sales Tax Holidays. The primary focus of these holidays is to allow consumers an opportunity to save money on necessary expenses such as, back-to-school supplies.

Review the chart below to see if your state or perhaps a neighboring state is participating in a Sales Tax holiday.

We have listed the names of all participating states, the respective dates of participation and even some of the items you can purchase without paying taxes.

In 2006 thirteen states and the District of Columbia are participating in a “sales tax holiday”. These events allow consumers to make necessary purchases and legally avoid paying taxes on such items for a limited time.

You’ll notice a dollar amount listed next to the description of the consumer item. This amount indicates the highest price you can pay for a single item and still qualify for the tax break. One state in particular; South Carolina did not indicate a limit on the per item cost.

For more details on your state’s Sales Tax Holiday we recommend you visit the corresponding link below.

Enjoy your back-to-school shopping and your tax savings!
